Hemisfair has transformed vacant space left over from the 1968 World’s Fair into one of the world’s greatest public places, reintroducing people and a neighborhood back to the downtown core.

Hemisfair is a 40-acre urban district with residences, local businesses, unique programming and three public parks in the heart of San Antonio.

Hemisfair is becoming a sustainable, self-funded district filled with events authentic to San Antonio and new, mixed-use buildings alongside rehabilitated historic structures. Hemisfair is where San Antonio meets: it is the central gathering place for all San Antonians, strengthening the local community and enhancing the sense of pride in the city.

Civic Park has since split into a two-phase project, and construction on the first phase is expected to begin in January.
